After winning the Excell Primary School of the Year Award at the Daily Post School Awards on Monday, Ysgol Glan Gele of Abergele have a lot to be smiling about! On Wednesday afternoon, Lyndsay and Bronwen were welcomed by head teacher Mrs Julia Buckley-Jones who took the time to guide a full tour around the infant school.
Mrs Buckley- Jones said, “We submitted our entry to the awards quite last minute so we are thrilled to have been recognised in such a competitive category. I can only put our success down to the school’s dedicated staff and children”.
Lyndsay said “We had a lovely afternoon at the school and it was nice to meet some of the children who were enjoying the fantastic outdoor area. After seeing the school and meeting the staff it is no surprise Ysgol Glan Gele have been chosen as the winners”.
Year 1 Class Teacher, Miss Jodie Biddle and a few very excitable children joined us in the castle for a photo. Miss Biddle added, “Da iawn pawb! We are extremely proud of our achievement and what a lovely end to a very busy academic year”.
