The 2015 Daily Post School Awards Ceremony took place yesterday at Bangor University and proud sponsors Excell Supply were delighted to be part of the annual event.

Prof Oliver Turnbull, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Bangor University expressed, “It was a great occasion and an opportunity to celebrate the success – not only of the very worthy winners – of all the schools and individuals shortlisted. The event was a fitting celebration and a well-deserved acknowledgment for the valuable work they do.”

Lee, one of our secondary account managers who attended the event added, “This is the second time I have attended the awards ceremony and once again it was a privilege to represent Excell Supply on such a great occasion.”

Excell Supply sponsored the following awards;

Head Teacher of the Year (Nicola Thomas of Cornist Park Primary School, Flint)

Primary School of the Year (Winner Ysgol Tan Y Marian, Colwyn Bay)

Jon presented both awards and said “It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a prestigious education event. Well done to all nominees but a huge congratulations to two very worthy winners of the Excell sponsored awards”.

Winner of the Head Teacher award Nicola Thomas changed the school’s motto to Freedom to Flourish. Her nomination reads: “It takes a certain kind of head teacher to find a successful balance between managing a school and maintaining positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents and wider community, but Nic does this extremely well.

Winning Ysgol Tan Y Marian is situated within the Peulwys Estate, which is within the top 10% most deprived area within Wales. The school is committed to improving relations with parents, which includes encouraging family engagement in the life of the school. It uses its deprivation grant towards family learning activities, outdoor activity days, water sports and much more.

Well done to all involved and we are looking forward to next year!
