De-escalation Training

March 26 @ 3:45 pm - 5:15 pm

It’s fair to say that the contemporary education landscape presents its fair share of challenges. From funding constraints and increasing incidents of challenging behaviour, to navigating complex relationships with students and parents, educators are faced with a multitude of stressful situations. While these issues stem from various underlying factors, it’s crucial for teachers and support staff to develop effective de-escalation techniques. Being equipped to manage potential conflicts can prevent situations from escalating into more serious confrontations.

What is De-escalation Training?

De-escalation training involves learning strategies to manage and reduce the intensity of conflict or stressful situations. In an educational setting, these training programmes typically focus on:

  • Acknowledging Student Behaviour: Understanding the underlying reasons behind student behaviour and responding appropriately.
  • Effective Communication Methods: Employing clear, calm, and empathetic communication to diffuse tension.
  • Classroom Management: Implementing strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment that minimises potential conflict.

PLEASE NOTE – THIS TRAINING IS ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE VIA MS TEAMS ONLY  – You may not require Teams to join, some devices support MS Teams via your devices browsers, please check with your device or provider for compatibility.
