Location: Newtown, Powys
Pay: £166.32 – £190 per day
Are you a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in Newtown? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team and support students with special educational needs (SEN) in achieving their full potential.
About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing tailored education to students with diverse needs. Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families, you will deliver engaging lessons and create a nurturing, inclusive environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff and parents.
- Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to stakeholders.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive classroom.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and a commitment to differentiation.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
