About Us:
We are recruiting for a dedicated and nurturing private SEND school in Suffolk, committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive education for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our clients school offers a supportive and engaging learning environment, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. We have 36 pupils on site aged between 11-16, the majority of pupils have a diagnosis of ASD and/or ADHD. The school pride themselves on fostering independence, confidence, and a love for learning in our pupils.
The Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with SEND in a dynamic and caring setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored learning experiences, helping students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with diverse learning needs.
• Assisting with the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and implementing targeted interventions.
• Encouraging independence and positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Supporting students with communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs.
• Building strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Assisting with classroom management and ensuring a safe and inclusive setting for all learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience working with children with SEND (preferred but not essential).
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A passion for helping children with SEND to thrive and achieve their potential.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
