Are you a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)?

We are currently recruiting for a Welsh-speaking ALN Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis across schools in Denbighshire and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people, while using their Welsh language skills to help pupils thrive in an inclusive learning environment.

The Role

As a Welsh-speaking ALN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, helping them to engage with their education and develop their confidence and independence.

You may be working on a 1:1 basis, within small groups, or supporting the class teacher in a Welsh-medium or bilingual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with ALN both academically and pastorally
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Communicating effectively with pupils in Welsh and English
• Helping pupils access the curriculum and participate fully in school life
• Supporting the development of pupils’ confidence, independence and social skills
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs
• Creating a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

We’re Looking For

• Fluent Welsh-speaking ability – essential
• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN/SEND
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable
• A genuine passion for helping pupils reach their potential
