We were delighted to be able to support Christchurch School by funding the materials for their latest Gardening Club project, organised in part by former Excell Supply employee (now permanent member of the Christchurch team) Mrs Daly. Adam was on hand to see the grand unveiling of the mural earlier in the term and was blown away by what the pupil’s had come up with. Mrs Daly explained the project:
“In May I facilitated a painting project at Christchurch School in Rhyl with pupils ranging from year 2-6. The chosen pupils attended the school’s extra-curricular gardening club. I drew up an abstract composition based around some of the fruit and vegetables that the children had grown. Each week the children were taught how to handle a paintbrush and how to blend colours correctly under the supervision of myself and Miss Leicester (an employee of the school). The children also kept a photographic diary to record their progress.
The project lasted 10 weeks in total and now after a few finishing touches and embellishment our mural is complete and waiting to be displayed proudly outside our school. Not only is it to show off the talent’s and work of the dedicated staff and pupils it is also being used to promote our schools gardening club a very popular choice with the pupils and has been successfully run by Mrs Hazel Wynne-Williams for the past 4 years.
We are now eager to get cracking on a new project we have lined up which is to decorate our new bee hive area situated in our forest school. So don’t buzz off and watch this space!”

“For the project we drew fruit and veg, then coloured them with paint. The grapes are purple. The spades were yellow and black. My favourite part was everything and I liked taking pictures.
