World Book Day Winners Revealed

Published on: Saturday, 7th Dec 2024

A week later than advertised due to the snow, we have finally announced our World Book Day “best dressed” competition!  World Book Day was officially celebrated on Thursday 1st March, however the competition was stretched over a number of days due to the adverse weather closing a number of schools.  Today we were finally able to sit down and review almost thirty entries from Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.

The winning entry came from Saltney Ferry CP School in Flintshire who impressed us with the variety of outfits as well as the creativity in their home made costumes.  Outfits included characters from stories by Roald Dahl, Rose Bonne, Michael Bond, L Frank Baum and JK Rowling.  Saltney Ferry CP School pupils dressed as Willy Wonka, The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, Paddington Bear, Queen of Hearts, Azkaban Escapee (Harry Potter), The Tin Man and an Umpa Lumpa.  National Book Tokens are on their way to the winners – congratulations!
