JOB SPECIFICATION: Payroll Assistant

Location: Unit 15, Mold Business Park, Mold, Flintshire, CH7 1XP

Hours of Work: Full time, Core hours Monday to Friday 9AM – 5:00PM

Manager: Payroll Manager

Role Overview: 

Payroll Assistants work closely with Payroll Manager and other members of the team to deliver accurate and timely wages to employees. You will be responsible for inputting payroll information into our systems, adding new employees into our system, garnishing wages when necessary, and making sure paycheques go out on time. You will also ensure compliance with employment laws.  

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing, which currently includes 500+ weekly paid employees.
  • Timekeeping records for Agency workers.
  • Processing attachment of earnings, deductions, absence/holiday’s, salary sacrifice payments etc.
  • Updating employee records and processing any changes to employee information.
  • Processing any benefit payments/allowances and preparing P11d’s.
  • Issuing P60’s and P45’s when required.
  • Actioning Maternity, Paternity, adoption leave and pay calculations.
  • Supporting in the processing and communication of any pay increases or bonuses.
  • Inputting new starters onto payroll systems and processing any leavers.
  • Uploading Pension auto-enrolments and maintaining required pension information.
  • Filing and auditing personnel records.
  • Validating shift logs and inputting onto the payroll system.
  • Uploading bank payments.
  • Assisting in Payroll admin.
  • Running all payroll related reports on a weekly basis.
  • Dealing with Ad-hoc payroll queries from employees and HMRC.
  • Any other reasonable requests for the need of the business.

Terms and Conditions

Working hours are normally between Monday to Friday 9.00 am and 5.00pm and are typically 40 hours a week, due to events running and external visitors on site we may require flexibility around start and finish times. 

While most of the role is office based, you may be required to attend external meetings or events.

  • Undertake such other duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation.
  • Previous experience in a payroll or similar role
