Following the recent Daily Post Awards which Excell sponsored, Lyndsay and Adam were pleased to visit Ysgol San Sior in Llandudno to meet with the winner of the Excell Head Teacher of the Year Award, Mr Ian Jones.
He was pleasantly surprised to win and commented, “I suggested we entered the awards as a school but never expected to win the Head Teacher Award after being nominated by the children”.
Lyndsay and Adam enjoyed a tour of the school which has a large outdoor area with a pond and were introduced to the San Sior chickens, pheasants, hedgehogs and reptiles along the way!
Lyndsay was impressed by the school and said, “It was refreshing to see a school which is out of the ordinary who boast a 7 day committed team of staff who cleverly encourage the children to learn through the practicalities of animal welfare”.
Award winning Mr Jones added, “I’m proud and touched to have been nominated by the children. The kids have enjoyed working on various projects at the school, especially with the chickens!”
